A main difference between vapor blasting and dry blasting, such as sandblasting or sodablasting, is that the blast media is dampened prior to hitting the surface. A primary advantage of vapor blasting over dry blasting is that it prevents and diminishes dust, which allows operators to work in a broad variety of environments with little to no preparation or cleanup costs. It results in a polished, cleaner surface without clinging dust or embedded particles.
Vapor abrasive blasting is a quick and effective process for removing unwanted surface corrosion and other corruptions. The renovation process by vapor blasting begins when contact is made. Once abrasive hits a surface, the particle usually bursts, which launches smaller particles into the air in dust form. This force can result in dry sparks charged with static electricity. The fine particles are isolated in water droplets, which ultimately prevents additional dust. As the water droplet disperses, the hydrostatic force blasts away surface coating, leaving a feathered edge around the perimeter for flawless recoatings.
