The McCahill Painting Story

McCahill Painting Company owner, Tim McCahill, was born and raised in a large family on Chicago’s South Side (Go Sox!) and began his extensive painting career by doing small painting projects for his mother’s friends while he was just a freshman at Brother Rice High School. The projects kept coming and by the time he was a junior he had hired his first employees.

After high school, Tim attended Western Illinois University and continued to take on painting projects during his studies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978 and, with a strong vision for growing his painting business, officially formed McCahill Painting Company.

In the company’s early years, Tim was painting during the day and spending nights and weekends doing estimates and business planning. His initial clientele was mainly residential and light commercial, but soon he shifted focus to primarily commercial/institutional work and, not long after, to industrial work as well. From day one, Tim set out to deliver his customers a level of workmanship that exceeded their expectations and instilled deep confidence in their choice to hire him. His sky-high standards, detail-oriented nature, and commitment to safety quickly proved the ideal formula for building strong partnerships with his customers and winning their continued business.

Since 1978, McCahill Painting has steadily grown to be one of the most respected industrial and commercial painting and blasting firms in Chicagoland and the greater Midwest. We continuously invest in our employees, equipment, tools, and technology to remain faithful to Tim’s longstanding vision while embracing the needs of a growing organization, evolving industry, and sophisticated customer base.

Today Tim continues to actively lead McCahill Painting Company, collaborating with customers to devise the best solutions for their projects, and managing business and operations to guide the continued growth of our organization.
